You're invited to join us for Whiskey University, a special experience presented as part of this year's Cocktails and Cosmonauts. This is a fun and interesting one-hour tasting course in the history, production and major styles of this popular spirit. Participants learn through slides and discussion while tasting the five major styles of whiskey; Irish, Scotch, Canadian, Rye and Bourbon, plus Mystic Bourbon Liqueur. Trace the roots of whiskey from the Sands of Arabia to the Blue Ridge Mountains and learn how the production process influences the characteristic flavors of each style. The session includes small plates to compliment your drink samples. Presented by the distilling team from Barrister & Brewer, Durham based producers of Mystic Bourbon Liqueur and Heart of Mystic Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
