AfterHours: Science of Beer  

Thursday, May 18th from 6:30 – 10:00 PM 

General Admission $40 / Museum Member $35 

Leave the kids at home this event is 21+  

Join us for everyone’s favorite beer-themed Museum event! Enjoy live music from Side Hustle while reps from your favorite breweries serve up samples all evening long. Stop by to see NC State’s Sebastian Wolfrum’s presentation on Malt Science and visit our other science experts to get schooled on beer making and the fermentation process. Hop over to play lawn games, relax at our outdoor biergarten, and take a train ride on the Ellerbe Creek Railway. Then, tap into your creative side with Crafts & Drafts and our activity stations to make something unique to take home!  

In addition to exploring our 65,000 sq. feet indoor hands-on exhibits, you’ll get to enjoy Gateway Park, Hideaway Woods, and the Magic Wings Butterfly House. “Trash Talk” & “Blue Window” Food trucks will also be on site.  

Your Ticket Includes: 

A commemorative Science of Beer glass  

Beer samples from your favorite breweries across North Carolina 

Self-guided activity stations including a special craft with Crafts & Drafts!  

Train rides on the Ellerbe Creek Railway until 8:30 PM 

Hands-on experiments and expert-led presentations  

Not a big beer drinker but love fermentation science? Don’t fret! Along with our variety of beers, we’ll also have wine and cider available for purchase at our cash bars and plenty of awesome activities. To top it off, all money raised from this event will benefit our conservation and education initiatives that help inspire lifelong learning. Food trucks, experiments, and beer - What could be better?
